This stovetop toffee sauce comes together in under 5 minutes. It's easier than making caramel sauce, and with a deep buttery flavor it tastes even better!
¼cup(57g) butter (salted or unsalted)cut into cubes
⅓cup(80ml) heavy cream
1-3pinches of saltbased on if you used salted butter and how salty-sweet you want it
½teaspoonpure vanilla extract
Instructions
In a small saucepan, stirring occasionally, bring brown sugar, butter, cream, and salt to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for two minutes, until the brown sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla. Sauce will thicken as it cools.
