Toffee Sauce
Ingredients
- ½ cup (105g) packed brown sugar , light or dark
- ¼ cup (57g) butter (salted or unsalted), cut into cubes
- ⅓ cup (80ml) heavy cream
- 1-3 pinches of salt, based on if you used salted butter and how salty-sweet you want it
- ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, stirring occasionally, bring brown sugar, butter, cream, and salt to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for two minutes, until the brown sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla. Sauce will thicken as it cools.
