Cheesecake dip in a white bowl topped with strawberries

Yes, friends. Cheesecake in dip form. Because sometimes we want to eat cheesecake but don’t want to make a whole cheesecake. Problem solved. All the flavors of cheesecake rolled into one super easy four-ingredient dip.

I love playing around with recipes that are a  twist on traditional cheesecake, like Cheesecake Cookies, Churro Cheesecake, Greek Yogurt Cheesecake, and Cheesecake Bars.

Cheesecake dip in a white bowl topped with strawberries with a graham cracker in it

Recipe overview

This dip comes together in under 5 minutes. You’ll need a hand mixer or stand mixer with the whisk attachment and the following ingredients:

  • Cream cheese
  • Powdered sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Heavy cream

Beat the cream cheese. Add the powdered sugar. Slowly add the cream, followed by vanilla. Beat on high until smooth, creamy, and thickened.

Ingredients for cheesecake dip (cream cheese, cream, powdered sugar, vanilla)

Recipe tips

  • Cream cheese should be softened but not warm.
  • Heavy cream should be really cold. Keep it in the fridge until right when you need it.
  • In addition to the vanilla extract, you can also add a drop or two of almond extract, or finely grated lemon or orange zest.
  • Allow time for the dip to chill. It will thicken up as it chills and the cream cheese firms up. I make this the day I need it, about 4-6 hours in advance of serving.
  • Wait to add the toppings until right before serving.

Note: This dip is on the thinner side. The texture is similar to yogurt or softly whipped cream. This makes it easier for dipping delicate things like cookies.

Topping options

You can absolutely serve this dip plain with no toppings, and it will taste similar to plain/regular cheesecake. If you’d like to have fun with toppings, here are some suggestions:

  • Fresh berries: Combine ½ cup of fresh berries with 1 tablespoon of berry jam. If using larger berries, chop them. Spoon the berries and jam over the dip right before serving
  • Blueberry sauce (a half recipe will be more than enough)
  • Store bought pie filling/cheesecake topping
  • Chocolate sauce and mini chocolate chips
  • Caramel sauce and toffee bits
  • Graham cracker crumbs

Dippers

  • Graham crackers
  • Shortbread cookies
  • Waffle cookies
  • Chocolate wafer cookies
  • Pretzels
  • Strawberries
  • Sliced apples

Love this dessert! All the deliciousness of cheesecake without the work of baking an actual cheesecake. Doesn’t get better than this!
